Peru: Attorney General meets with UN Special Rapporteur

Peruvian Attorney General Patricia Benavides held a meeting with United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights to Freedom of Peaceful Assembly and of Association, Clément Voule, who is currently in Peru.

During the event, the Public Ministry head reported on the prosecutorial actions carried out in cases involving victims from the social protests that have taken place in Peru over recent months.

"Attorney General Patricia Benavides met with Clément Nyaletsossi Voule, (United Nations) Special Rapporteur on the Rights to Freedom of Peaceful Assembly and of Association, to whom she detailed the prosecutorial actions carried out in cases involving victims during social protests," the Public Ministry reported via its official social media channels.


Clément Voule, a Togolese national, was appointed Rapporteur on the Rights to Freedom of Peaceful Assembly and of Association. He took up duties in April 2018.
