to foster opportunities aimed at deepening economic relations between both countries.
The bilateral relationship is characterized by a like-minded approach to trade, strong trade relations, and a shared commitment to the rules-based global trading system.
It should be noted that our country is one of the two APEC economies that have an FTA with Australia, which proves the strengthening of ties with this country.
The bilateral agreement provides a solid platform to continue collaboration and increase bilateral trade.
In that regard, both nations reiterated their commitment to work together and to continue strengthening their trade relations, based on the bilateral agreement.
Therefore, Australia and Peru will work to foster the trade and investment opportunities generated through the FTA, including the exchange of information, as well as joint promotional events.
This will include carrying out capacity-building activities in different Peruvian regions to show companies the benefits of said treaty, trade and investment opportunities, as well as success stories.
These joint actions will establish a working basis for the next meeting of the Joint Commission of the Peru-Australia FTA to be held in the coming months. At the future event, different ways to enhance trade and investments between both countries will be addressed.
The latter is an opportunity to continue strengthening ties, in support of the priorities of inclusive, sustainable, and resilient growth.
Peru is hosting APEC for the third time after the 2008 and 2016 editions.
