Peru Ambassador presents credentials to Viet Nam President

Peruvian Ambassador Augusto Morelli Salgado presented his credential letters to Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, the Andean country's Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.

Such credentials recognize the appointment of Mr. Morelli as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the Asian country.

The special ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace of Viet Nam in Hanoi.

On this occasion, the diplomat extended President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski's greetings to the hosting country's leader.

Afterwards, both authorities held a conversation addressing their interests in strengthening trade relations, fostering bilateral mechanisms, and supporting the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), as well as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Furthermore, they discussed their countries' desire for expanding cooperation in health, education, defense, science, and technology fields.

Finally, both personalities addressed the positive results achieved during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit's meetings held in Lima (2016) and Da Nang (2017).
