Peru: Amb Rodriguez Cuadros appointed Permanent Representative to UN

The Executive Branch has designated highly-experienced Ambassador Jose Manuel Rodriguez Cuadros as Permanent Representative of Peru to the United Nations (UN) based in New York City, the United States.

According to Supreme Resolution No. 107-2021-RE —published in the Official Gazette El Peruano— the representative was appointed in his capacity as Ambassador in the Diplomatic Service of the Republic.

The regulation also provides that the corresponding credentials and full powers will be issued to the diplomat.

Likewise, the provision establishes that the date on which Ambassador Rodriguez Cuadros, 72, will assume his duties is to be set by resolution.

Another Supreme Resolution has terminated the duties of Nestor Popolizio Bardales in the aforementioned position. Thus, he was thanked for the important services rendered to the nation.

Other representatives

Via Supreme Resolution No. 109-2021-RE, the Ambassador in the Diplomatic Service, Silvia Elena Alfaro Espinosa, has been designated as Representative of Peru to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Moreover, Supreme Resolution No. 108-2021-RE makes official the appointment of Ambassador in the Diplomatic Service, Luis Juan Chuquihuara Chil, as Permanent Representative of Peru to the international organizations based in Geneva, the Swiss Confederation.
