Peru: 20,400 PPE units, medicines sent to Iquitos to fight coronavirus

20,400 personal protective equipment (PPE) units and medicines have been sent to the rainforest city of Iquitos (Loreto region) to combat COVID-19, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported.

The delivery was made through the State-run National Center for Supply of Strategic Health Resources (Cenares).

These supplies included jackets, disposable aprons, and more.

Additionally, over six tons of supplies were sent to five regions across the country to assist in the fight against this pandemic.

15,340 units of personal protective equipment were distributed in Lima.

On the other hand, 30,620 PPE units were sent to Lambayeque, 19,260 to La Libertad, 3,390 to Piura, and 14,790 to Tumbes, plus rapid tests.

Medicines to treat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were also sent to said regions.
