The democratic process for compatriots abroad—which began on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (Peru time)—has already concluded in New Zealand, Australia, Japan, South Korea, China, Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
Meanwhile, polling tables in Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia are undergoing the vote count.
In Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the election day was entering its final hours. Polling sites in cities with large Peruvian communities, such as Madrid, Barcelona, and Milan, are welcoming thousands of Peruvians.
In the Gulf region, Peruvians are voting for the first time in this election at polling sites set up in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, and Qatar.
Simultaneously with the start of the runoff election in the homeland, Peru's consulates general across the Americas are opening polling tables.
In the United States, the last polling tables are scheduled to open starting at 9:00 a.m. (local time) in Seattle, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
The presidential runoff election abroad is being monitored in real time by the Monitoring Center. A total of 2,506 polling tables are scheduled to be set up across the five continents.
