reported that, as of 11:35 a.m., all 90,223 polling tables nationwide had been installed for the presidential runoff election.
The legal deadline for their installation was noon, in accordance with Article 252 of the Organic Elections Law.
According to the electoral body's Support and Monitoring Center, the Decentralized Electoral Process Office (ODPE) of Tarma was the first to report the installation of 100% of polling tables within its jurisdiction.
By around 10:00 a.m., the ODPE offices in Arequipa, Bongara, and Tayacaja, among others, had also reported the installation of all polling tables.
The ODPE of Bagua, Requena, Lima West 1 and 3, Alto Amazonas, Sanchez Carrion, Tambopata, and Mariscal Ramon Castilla were among the last to report the installation of polling tables within their respective jurisdictions.
The first polling table, No. 078946, was installed at 5:35 a.m. at Santiago Antunez de Mayolo School (IE 0208) in Bellavista district, capital of the province of the same name, in San Martin region.
Nationwide, a total of 90,223 polling tables were required to be installed to receive the votes of 26,114,619 citizens.
Abroad, 2,506 polling tables were to operate in order to receive the votes of 1,194,172 Peruvians living overseas.
In the presidential runoff election being held this Sunday, 278,187 Peruvians will play a fundamental role as table members responsible for overseeing the 90,223 polling tables operating nationwide and the additional 2,506 to be installed abroad.
They will oversee the installation of polling tables, the voting process—from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.—and the vote count, including the completion of electoral records in which the results are recorded.
To help them perform their duties properly, ONPE offered training through virtual courses available at capacitate.onpe.gob.pe, as well as in-person sessions at Decentralized Electoral Process Offices (ODPE), district offices, and facilities operating in population centers.
