National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) Acting Chief Bernardo Pachas and electoral body officials held a meeting with European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) members to exchange views on the conduct of the presidential runoff election on June 7.

According to ONPE, an overview of the electoral process was provided during the meeting.

It will be considered in the EU EOM's final report, a document that will include observations and recommendations aimed at strengthening future electoral processes.

ONPE noted that the exchange of information is part of the work being carried out by the international election observation mission in Peru following the presidential runoff election.

Shortly after the June 7 Election Day, the EU EOM presented a preliminary report on the presidential runoff election.

It also announced that its final report will be released in August of this year.

The EU EOM has been in Peru since late February of this year.

For Election Day, it deployed more than 150 international observers from the European Union's 27 member states, as well as Canada, Switzerland, and Norway.
