Peru: 17th Decentralized Council of Ministers kicks off in Arequipa

The 17th Decentralized Council of Ministers has begun. It takes place in the city of Arequipa and aims to coordinate the implementation of priority works in the region with local and regional authorities.


During her participation, Mrs. Boluarte remarked that various joint actions —for the benefit of all— will be adopted during this meeting, seeking territorial development through dialogue.

According to the schedule, the dialogue on the territorial development agenda will begin after the opening ceremony. It will include the participation of lawmakers, as well as mayors of the provinces of Caraveli, Diego Montesinos; Castilla, Hector Caceres; and Camana, Marcelo Valdivia.

Furthermore, the meeting will include remarks by the mayors of the provinces of Condesuyos, Miguel Angel Manchego; Islay, Edgar Rivera; La Union, Jorge Luis Velasquez; and Caylloma, Alvaro Caceres. 

Right after that, representatives of civil society will take part in the dialogue.
 
Then, the Ministers of State will report on the work and actions undertaken by their sectors. Finally, Prime Minister Anibal Torres will address those present.

The closing remarks will be delivered by the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo.

The previous Decentralized Council of Ministers took place last Saturday in Tacna region.

According to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), these meetings serve to prioritize the territorial planning demands to close gaps and improve the quality of life.

To date, similar sessions have been held in Cusco, Moquegua, Huancavelica, Junin, Puno, Ayacucho, Ucayali, Ica, Tumbes, Pasco, Huanuco, Amazonas, Loreto, and Lima regions.
