The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), through its Secretariat of Public Integrity, participated —during the month of March— in work meetings with international organizations to monitor the implementation of standards and mechanisms against corruption.

In this way, between March 8 and 11, it participated in the OECD Working Group on Bribery in International Business Transactions and in the evaluation section —together with experts from Latvia— of the Phase 2 Report on Costa Rica.

Peru serves as a member of the OECD Working Party of Senior Public Integrity Officials (SPIO) and, since 2020, adheres to the Recommendations on Public Integrity by the OECD, which has conducted three studies on the matter in the South American country.

Likewise, it has resolved the first and second evaluation phases on regulatory advances to combat transnational bribery (2019 and 2021).

Similarly, between March 14 and 17, Peru participated in the 37th Meeting of the Committee of Experts of the Follow-Up Mechanism for the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption (MESICIC).

In said meeting, our country presented the scope of the Public Sector Due Diligence Platform project, as well as the ongoing initiatives to improve the mechanisms for reporting and protecting whistleblowers of acts of corruption, in addition to the progress made in the implementation of recommendations made by this organization.

On February 25, the Peruvian Government and the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS) signed a cooperation and technical assistance agreement to strengthen the capacities of the agencies responsible for preventing and combating corruption, during a ceremony held at the Government Palace in the presence of the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo.

Additionally, Peru participated in a regional meeting to speed up the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption, in Mexico City, from March 14 to 17.
