Andina news agency was one of the media outlets with greatest social media interaction during Pope Francis' visit to Peru, a Quantico Trends' study revealed.
According to the digital monitoring company, Andina holds the second place with an average of 939 interactions per day on the most popular social networks: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube.
Andina was only surpassed by private-run channel America (2,782 interactions).
Next in the ranking are State-run broadcaster TV Peru (412), as well as La Republica (355) and El Comercio (309) newspapers.
The chart also shows Twitter was the most used social media platform during the
Pope's visit, due to the different
hashtags created for the occasion: #FranciscoEnPeru, #ModoPapa, #UnidosPorLaEsperanza, #BienvenidoFrancisco, among others.
In addition, the study revealed January 21 —when the Holy Father held a mass at
Lima-based Las Palmas Air Base— was the day with the most mentions (89,987) about the Vicar of Christ on social media.
It must be noted 55% of people who mentioned Pope Francis on social media were men, whereas 45% were women.
The survey was conducted on 15-23 January 2018.
