The Pacific Alliance and the European Union (EU) have signed a joint declaration to strengthen cooperation in environmental matters; science, technology and innovation; as well as to support SMEs.

In addition, the document highlights the optimal relationship in the field of trade and investment between the two blocs.

The gathering held on Wednesday was attended by Peruvian Ministers Nestor Popolizio (Foreign Affairs), and Edgar Vasquez (Foreign Trade and Tourism) along with their peers from the integration group composed of Peru, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.

High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini signed the document for the countries that make up that bloc of the Old Continent.

The meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers of the Forum for the Progress of South America (Prosur) was also held within the framework of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The event was attended by Minister Popolizio, who signed a statement on this new regional space for integration.
