A batch containing 662,220 doses of the vaccine against COVID-19 arrived in Peru, which in the coming days will be distributed democratically among all regions, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) has reported.

The cargo landed at Lima's Jorge Chavez International Airport on Friday evening.

Health Minister Hernando Cevallos received this important shipment.

Within this framework, the Cabinet member stressed that more than 13 million doses of the vaccine against COVID-19 will arrive this September.

"Tomorrow (on Saturday), another 2 million doses will arrive, which will enable us to accelerate the vaccination process and the population to be better protected against the third wave and the Delta variant," he stated on the occasion.
