A new batch of 101,760 vaccines against COVID-19 from the AstraZeneca laboratory arrived in Peru to reinforce the immunization process and advance the age schedule crafted by the Ministry of Health (Minsa).

Via Twitter, Minsa indicated that the doses were donated by Spain through the COVAX Facility to reinforce the protection of the population against coronavirus.

"Tonight, a new batch of 101,760 vaccines against COVD-19 arrived in the country to continue with the vaccination process throughout the Peruvian territory," the government agency reported on Wednesday evening.

The cargo was welcomed at Lima's Jorge Chavez International Airport by Deputy Benefits-Health Insurance Minister, Bernardo Ostos; Minister Counselor of the Spanish Embassy in Lima, Gonzalo Quintero; UNICEF Deputy Representative in Peru, Laura Salamanca; and Minsa Management Department Official Julio Castro.
