ONPE confirms Susana Villaran's victory in Lima elections

Thirty-one days after Lima's mayoral elections and with 100 percent of votes counted, the National Electoral Process Office (ONPE) has confirmed the victory of Fuerza Social candidate Susana Villaran over PPC-UN candidate Lourdes Flores by 38,022 votes.

According to the latest report released Thursday afternoon, Susana Villaran received 1'743,712 votes (38.393 percent) while Lourdes Flores tallied 1'705,690 votes (37.555 percent)

The difference between Villaran and Flores was 0,838 percent.

The report also showed that Restauración Nacional candidate Humberto Lay earned 8.612 percent of votes, followed by Somos Peru’s Fernando Andrade with 4.243 percent and Fernan Altuve of Cambio Radical with 3.751 percent.

Siempre Unidos candidate Alex Gonzales got 3.389 percent and Gonzalo Alegria of Accion Popular obtained 2.022 percent.

Candidates Luis Iberico of Alianza para el Progreso and Raul Canelo of Partido Fonavista captured 1.066 and 0.970 percent, respectively.
