16:32 | Lima, Jun. 14.

The Electoral Observation Mission of the Organization of American States (OAS) affirmed that both national and international observers gave a positive estimation to the runoff election process in Peru.

After meeting with representatives of the Transparency Civil Association, the OAS mission shared a tweet to indicate that both observation bodies had the same perception of the runoff election held on June 6.

"Both national and international observers gave a positive estimation to the election day," the OAS observation mission stated.

Earlier, in a statement, the Transparency Civil Association condemned any attempt to endanger democracy in the country.

It also stressed that the National Elections Board (JNE) is the institution in charge of proclaiming the new President who will take the reins of the country on July 28 this year.
