New batch of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines arrives in Peru

A new batch of 385,600 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from China's Sinopharm landed in Peru on Sunday afternoon in order to continue the vaccination process throughout the national territory.

This batch is added to the 614,400 doses of the same pharmaceutical company that arrived on August 21, which makes for a total of 1 million doses confirmed for this weekend.

Their arrival at Lima's Jorge Chavez International Airport was supervised by Deputy Public Health Minister Gustavo Rosell and Deputy Benefits-Health Insurance Minister Bernardo Ostos.

According to Health Minister Hernando Cevallos, another 200,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine are expected to arrive in the coming days.

In addition, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that more than 17 million doses have been administered throughout the country so far.
