As part of Pope Leo XIV’s apostolic visit to Peru from November 11 to 16, the Ministry of Culture’s national performing arts groups will participate in various activities on the Holy Father’s official agenda.

Through musical, choral, and dance performances, they will highlight the country’s artistic richness and cultural diversity.

These national ensembles will accompany various segments of the Pontiff’s schedule, which includes meetings with government officials, representatives of civil society, and communities from different regions of the country.

On Wednesday, November 11, the National Children’s Choir will take part in the welcoming ceremony for Pope Leo XIV at the Government Palace.

That same day, the Bicentennial National Youth Symphony Orchestra of Peru, the National Children’s Choir, and the National Folkloric Ballet will perform during the Holy Father’s meeting with government officials, civil society representatives, and the diplomatic corps, to be held at the Grand National Theater.

On Friday, November 13, the National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) of Peru will participate in the Holy Mass presided over by Pope Leo XIV on the esplanade located in front of the Pampas de Pimentel, in the Lambayeque region.

The performance will bring together musicians from the OSN, artists from Chiclayo, and a choir of over 600 voices—composed of groups and congregations from Chiclayo, Piura, Trujillo, Cajamarca, and Lima. This event will mark the national ensemble’s return to the Chiclayo region after 86 years. Cultural Evening in Pucallpa

Furthermore, as part of the activities surrounding the apostolic visit, the National Children’s Choir and the National Folkloric Ballet will present a performance in Pucallpa on the eve of the Holy Father’s arrival in this Amazonian city.

The performance will showcase forms of song and dance that are part of Peru’s cultural heritage, highlighting the diversity of traditions that enrich the nation’s identity.

In this way, the National Performing Arts Groups of the Ministry of Culture will join the official activities for the Pope’s visit, featuring music, song, and dance—bringing the arts to the public and sharing the talent of Peruvian artists during this significant event.
