Morocco enjoys observer membership status in nine regional organizations; four in the parliamentary sphere (Parlacen, Foprel, Andean Parliament, and Parlatino), as well as SICA, OAS, SEGIB, AEC, and the
Pacific Alliance in the economic field.
Morocco's attachment to this Andean group —which has its roots in the common historical-cultural heritage and in linguistic influence— is also a recognition of the reforms undertaken by the King to build a modern and democratic Morocco.
The
Andean Community (CAN) is made up of Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, and Ecuador. Those countries account for around 23% of the surface and population of Latin America.
