Lima museums night to gather over 20,000 visitors

Lima’s Municipality announced the fourth edition of “The Night of the Museums”, which is expected to gather over 20,000 visitors on December 14th.
The municipality has organized this open event aimed at promoting the museums and cultural sites of Downtown Lima.

This year’s edition involves a total of 30 institutions adding six new cultural places.

As it was reported, on December 14 museums will open their doors during unusual operating hours (from 17:00 to 22:00 hours), with special rates or free entry.

In addition to the interesting exhibitions, the museums and galleries taking part in the Night of The Museums will also offer various kinds of special activitites for their visitors. 

The new institutions participating at the open event are the Afroperuano Museum, Amazonian Ethnographic Museum of the Cultural Centre Pio Aza, Pantheon of Heroes, Museum of Archaeology Josefina Ramos Cox, the Theater's Municipal Museum and Bodega y Cuadra Museum.

Some other very well-known institutions which will open their doors for free are the Peruvian Literature House, Lima’s Art Museum (MALI) and the House and Museum José Carlos Mariategui, among others.
