With 100% of ballots counted, the candidate for Mayor of Lima Rafael Lopez Aliaga (Popular Renewal) obtained 26.342% of votes, while Daniel Urresti (We can Peru) received 25.348% in the Regional and Municipal Elections held nationwide on October 2, according to the
National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE).
Lopez Aliaga got 1,402,627 votes, whereas Urresti Elera received 1,349,725. The difference between the two was 52,902 votes, which would give the Popular Renewal candidate victory in the Lima mayoral race.
Additionally, George Forsyth (We are Peru) received 1,007,979 votes (18.930%), followed by Elizabeth Leon (Front of Hope) with 581,269 votes (10.916%), according to the official results released by the ONPE.
Omar Chehade (Alliance for Progress) was next in line with 378,642 votes (7.111%), followed by Gonzalo Alegria (Together for Peru) with 339,570 votes (6.377%).
Finally, Maria Elena Soto (Go on Country) received 186,529 votes (3.503%) and Yuri Castro (Free Peru) got 78,364 (1.472%).
With 100% of ballots processed, citizen participation stood at 78.579%.
