Peruvian Para athlete Hector Salva won the Para badminton bronze in the men's singles SS6 after beating Canadian Wyatt Lightfoot at the
Lima 2019 Parapan American Games on Saturday.
With this bronze, Peru stands in tenth place in the overall medal table, with 13 medals in total (3 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze).
Following this triumph, Salva said he feels happy to win more medals for his country in this sports event.
"We are earning more medals and that's good. It gives me great joy to know that I am helping Peru to add more medals to its haul," he stated.
Salva is considered one of the three best Para athletes in South America in the SS6 category.
