Italy PM visits Lima Metro Line 2 works

Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi along with Peruvian Transport and Communications Minister Jose Gallardo Ku inspected the Lima Metro Line 2 works.

The said project is considered one of the most important currently under construction and following high security, quality and technology standards.

Renzi was joined by a delegation of Italian entrepreneurs.

Italy participates in the Lima Metro Line 2 project through companies Impregilo, Ansaldo Breda and Ansaldo STS, which comprise the Italian-Spanish-Peruvian consortium.

The project will benefit over 2 million Lima residents by becoming the country's first underground line that will enable to travel from Ate Vitarte to El Callao districts (35-kilometer route) in 45 minutes instead of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

It is valued at US$5.347 billion.
