The Indonesian Government facilitated the entry of Peruvian table grapes and tangerines into its market hosting over 253 million potential buyers.

In partnership with Peru's Trade Office based in Yakarta (OCEX Yakarta), the Andean country's Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) currently undertakes efforts to boost national exports into the said Asian market.

Indonesia's Agricultural Quarantine Office authorized the definitive entry of the said Peruvian products at the end of 2016, Mincetur highlighted.

Trade opportunity

The portfolio stressed that trade opportunities for Peruvian entrepreneurs in Indonesia "are very promising," since the Asian nation imports almost all kinds of food products.

It must be noted avocados, blueberries, garlic, onions, other grape varieties and asparagus are national products that may also enter Indonesian markets very soon.

Tangerine

Thanks to OCEX Yakarta, Peruvian tangerines drew the attention of Indonesian company PT Segar Manis Mata during its visit to Peru last year.
