Juan Diego Ruiz Cumplido has presented to the Foreign Affairs Ministry's General Directorate of Multilateral and Global Affairs the credentials that accredit him as the new representative of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Peru.

In a subsequent meeting, IFAD's work on poverty reduction with emphasis on the rural sector was highlighted, the ministry reported.

Besides, the work of IFAD and its current investment portfolio, whose scope benefits nearly 240,000 families in the poorest rural areas of Peru, were assessed.

Thus, Peru's commitment to work jointly in favor of poverty reduction, increased food security, nutrition improvement, and strengthening resilience against climate change was renewed.
