The Huaca Pucllana Museum received its 90,000th visitor on 31th December, informed the Miraflores District Municipality.
The Brazilian Waldir Scherr Jr., a 51-year-old man travelled to Peru with his family to visit Machu Picchu and other Lima's touristic attractions.
He did not imagine he would be recognized as a special visitor during his tour around the archaeological site.
Scherr and his family traversed the exposition hall where the main excavation discoveries are exhibited.
They also visited the Pre-Incan recreation areas and lookouts to catch a glimpse at the life in the cultures: Lima, Wari and Yschma and their architecture.
The museum director, Isabel Flores, indicated that this recognition is a way of thanking the tourists interested in getting to know Lima's millenary history, such as this archaeological monument built 1500 years ago.
"We have become Lima's second touristic attraction. The first one is the Pachacamac Archaeological Complex [...]," said Flores.
The Miraflores Municipality rewarded the tourist with a book about the history of this archaeological site, considered a cultural heritage, and one coupon for the Huaca Pucllana restaurant valid for two people.
The Huaca Pucllana Museum provides official tourist guides in many foreign languages.
The museum also receives national and international tourists.
It is open from Wednesday to Monday: 9:00 A.M to 05:00 PM.
It is located in Calle General Borgoño cuadra 8 s/n, Miraflores.
