German club Hamburg SV emphasized the altruistic work of Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero with poor children from the Lima-based Fe y Alegría school and hailed the footballer as a role model in social issues.

The club's website noted that despite his short vacations in Lima, the 27-year-old attacker took some time to bring joy to poor children in his native country.

The top scorer of the 2011 Copa America in Argentina gave children autographed balls and told them stories about his childhood in the seaside town of Chorrillos in Lima.

Guerrero is currently taking a break ahead of the new Bundesliga season.
