Gov't recognizes Peruvian community's contribution overseas

The Executive Branch highlighted the valuable contribution of the Peruvian community around the world, expressing appreciation for its efforts to disseminate the country's cultural values, on the occasion of the Day of Peruvians Living Abroad.

In a statement posted on Twitter, the Presidency of the Republic underlined the actions carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen its services, humanitarian assistance, and consular section.

"Today we recognize the valuable contribution of the Peruvian community abroad, which disseminates our cultural values and Peruvian identity. We highlight the measures taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen its services, humanitarian assistance, and consular section," reads the tweet.

For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recognized the sacrifice and efforts of Peruvians residing overseas.

The government department extended fraternal greetings and special appreciation to Peruvians all over the world, noting that they bring a very good name to the country for their courage, sacrifice, and efforts.

"We highlight the invaluable effort of the Peruvian community in the world and express our appreciation and admiration for their contribution to preserving our culture," it stated.

The Day of Peruvians Living Abroad is commemorated every year on October 18, as provided in Supreme Decree No. 060-2006-RE issued by the Peruvian Government.

This day seeks to pay tribute to Peruvian men and women who year after year stand out for their social practices and for contributing to strengthening the Peruvian community bonds outside Peru.
