The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) on Tuesday extended its greetings to the members of the National Police of Peru on the Feast Day of Saint Rose of Lima —their patroness.

The PCM shared its St. Rose of Lima's Day greetings on social media.

"The Presidency of the Council of Ministers extends warm greetings to every member of the Peruvian Police, who are today paying tribute to Saint Rose of Lima, the patroness of their institution," it says in a post on Twitter.

The Feast of Saint Rose of Lima is celebrated on August 30 every year in commemoration of the First Saint of the Americas, who at a very young age devoted her life to God, as well as to helping the sick and children.

Saint Rose of Lima was the name given to Isabel Flores de Oliva, when she joined the Dominican order.

She was born in Lima on April 30, 1586 and died at the age of 31, on August 23, 1617.

The National Police of Peru and other institutions recognize Saint Rose of Lima as Celestial Patroness and Protector, celebrating the Day of Saint Rose of Lima and Police's Virtues on August 30 every year.
