In recognition of his service as Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Peru, Jabor Abdulla Al-Sowaidi was awarded the Order of Merit for Distinguished Services in the Rank of Grand Cross.

The high distinction conferred upon former Ambassador Al-Sowaidi —during a ceremony held at Peru's Embassy in the State of Qatar— is a recognition by the Peruvian State of the outstanding work he carried out during his mission in Lima from 2021 to 2024.

His efforts significantly contributed to the strengthening of bilateral relations between both countries.

During his tenure in Peru, the diplomat fostered closer ties between the two countries, particularly in the areas of commercial aviation, technical cooperation, and trade relations.

He also actively promoted the negotiation of agreements in priority sectors such as health, education, culture, and investment.

The decoration ceremony was attended by officials from the Departments for the Americas and Protocol of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of that diplomatic mission, as well as the honoree's family and close associates.
