Foreign delegations joined Peru's Civic-Military Parade

13:21 | Lima, Jul. 29.

Delegations from four nations took part in this year's Civic-Military Parade marking the 197th Anniversary of Peru's Independence Day.

On this occasion, participating countries included Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, and Mexico.

The foreign detachments came after a colorful and lively cultural show featuring artistic expressions from all over Peru.

Their march was accompanied by bands of Peruvian Armed Forces and National Police.

The Argentine Army unit came first, carrying the light-blue-and-white flag.

The second delegation, of Bolivia, was composed of Colonel Gualberto Villarroel Military Academy cadets.

Bolivians were followed by cadets of the Chilean Army's Bernardo O'Higgins Military Academy.

Last but not least were Mexican nationals from the Heroic Military Academy.

The parade pays tribute to Peruvian Armed Forces for its contribution to the country and —at the same time— is an opportunity to inspire patriotism and love of country.
