The first 40 tons of oxygen of the 960 to be imported by the Peruvian State from Chile arrived in national territory on Friday night, the Defense Ministry has reported.

Minister Nuria Esparch was in charge of receiving this first batch at the Santa Rosa border post, in the southern region of Tacna.

The Cabinet member said this achievement is the outcome of efforts coordinated with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health, the Armed Forces, the customs agency, and the Lima 2019 Legacy Project.

Thanks to this arrival, the gap between oxygen demand and production can be reduced.

"The ISO tank containers will stay at this border post overnight; all the necessary procedures will be carried out, and tomorrow morning (Saturday) they will start their journey to the capital city, their final destination," she stressed.
