Expomina Peru 2018 business rounds' commercial opportunities amounted to almost US$17 million, thus exceeding initial projections by US$2 million, the Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) informed on Monday.
During the event, US$5 million were secured, while the remaining US$12 million will materialize over the next 12 months.
A total of 270 meetings were held on the occasion. 37 Peruvian companies attended the fair, as well as 20 buyers from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Mexico.
Mexico's delegation secured the majority of deals, accounting for 31% of the projected total, followed by that from Chile (27%).
The most interesting products were mining inputs, drilling equipment, spare parts, crusher castings, ball mills, mining fans, submersible pumps, wires, specialized equipment, parts, castings, and exploration process equipment, among others.
Innovative products such as underground shelters to accommodate people for up to 90 hours —as well as cutting-edge informatic systems specialized in the
mining sector— stood out.
The 4th Business Rounds for International Buyers of the Mining Industry took place on September 12 within the framework of
Expomina Peru 2018.
The international fair specialized in products and services for mining activities was held on September 12-14 and takes place every two years.
