Spanish High Court on Friday ordered ex-judge Cesar Hinostroza to be held on remand without bail.
The ex-magistrate will remain in a Spanish prison until his extradition to Peru is determined.
The court's document also lists the ex-judge's alleged crimes.
About the case
Cesar Hinostroza is implicated in
a series of audio recordings released by Panorama TV show and investigative journalism site IDL-Reporteros.
In the conversations, the former judge offers and accepts favors to and from National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) members and other officials.
He was also accused of allegedly committing the crimes of illegal sponsorship, influence peddling, and incompatible negotiation.
Earlier today, President Vizcarra confirmed the ex-magistrate's arrest in Madrid, Spain.
