Editora Peru —the company that operates the Andina News Agency and the Official Gazette El Peruano— signed a Cooperation Agreement with South Korea's Yonhap News Agency, aimed at facilitating the exchange of information and the dissemination of news content in both countries.

The agreement —signed by Yonhap CEO and President, Hwang Dae-il, and Editora Peru News Media Director, Felix Paz Quiroz— will be valid for an initial period of one year. It will automatically renew for successive terms.

As established, Editora Peru and Yonhap mutually grant each other the right to receive and use their respective news services, including articles and photographs in both English and Spanish, for journalistic purposes within each country.

Sector promotion

The agreement includes the preparation of special articles to promote the image of both countries abroad.

Thus, Yonhap will disseminate information in Peru about South Korean culture, tourism, economy, and history.

In turn, Editora Peru, through Andina and El Peruano, will do the same in South Korea with content on Peruvian business, arts, and traditions.

Professional cooperation

Both institutions will coordinate the exchange of technical information to ensure the transmission of news, as well as promote a program of visits and exchange of experiences in journalism, digital communication, and information technologies.

Additionally, priority coverage will be given to conferences and significant events in each country.

The document establishes that each party will retain the copyright of its content, with the obligation to provide proper credit when used by the counterparty.

"This agreement is of great importance for Andina News Agency and the Official Gazette El Peruano, as our content about Peru and Latin America will be disseminated in South Korea and that part of Asia," Editora Peru News Media Director Felix Paz Quiroz stated.

"Thus, we contribute to the dissemination of Peru and the activities of Peruvians in areas ranging from history to gastronomy and tourism," he pointed out.
