The Peruvian Commission for the Promotion of Exports and Tourism (PromPerú) has granted the *Empresa Peruana de Servicios Editoriales* (Editora Perú) the license and certifications for the "Marca Perú" (Peru Brand) for institutional use, covering both the company itself and its brands: the official gazette *El Peruano* and the news agency *Agencia Andina*.
This distinction serves as recognition of the company’s strategic role and its long-standing track record in disseminating legal information, news, and content of public interest.
It also acknowledges the company’s efforts in preserving historical memory and promoting the country’s image both domestically and internationally.
The formal ceremony took place at Editora Perú’s headquarters in the Cercado district of Lima and began with welcoming remarks from Hugo Aguirre Castañeda, Chairman of the Board of the publishing company.

The presentation of the "Marca Perú" usage license was led by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), Rogers Valencia, and was accepted by Félix Paz Quiroz, General Manager and Director of Journalistic Media at Editora Perú.
Additionally, the Executive President of PromPerú, Teresa Mera Gómez, presented the official "Marca Perú" logo.

The event was also attended by members of the Editora Perú Board of Directors—Rose Monroy Robles, Carlos Castillo Sánchez, and Javier Dávila Quevedo—along with José Pastor Tejeda, Head of the Office of Image Strategy and Country Brand at PromPerú. The Importance of the ‘Marca Perú’ (Peru Brand)
Rogers Valencia, head of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), emphasized that the ‘Marca Perú’ (Peru Brand) represents much more than a mere identifier; it is a symbol that encapsulates the history, culture, diversity, and talent that make the country both recognizable and highly valued.
In this regard, he highlighted the historic role played by Editora Perú in shaping the nation’s future—specifically through the newspaper "El Peruano", which has documented 201 years of the country’s republican history.
“Through "El Peruano", Editora Perú has long fulfilled its mission, serving as an excellent example for other state institutions. It is a truly exciting moment for us to present them with the ‘Marca Perú’ and say: ‘We recognize your work and the efforts of your team; we are very proud of it.’ Let us carry this brand—a symbol that defines our identity, signifies quality and responsibility, and represents the building of our future,” the minister explained.
Furthermore, Minister Valencia noted that every entity that promotes the ‘Marca Perú’ takes on the opportunity to tell the nation’s story.
“Our identity is built upon who we were, who we are, and what we wish to share with future generations and the rest of the world,” he stressed.
He also emphasized that this usage license will help further strengthen civic pride and create new opportunities.
For her part, Teresa Mera Gómez, head of PromPerú, underscored the significance of this partnership in promoting the nation’s core attributes.
“By welcoming Editora Perú into the ‘Marca Perú’ Licensee Program, we are aligning the promotion of our national image with an institution that is deeply woven into our history and plays a fundamental role in our society,” she stated.
“The presence and reach of both the official gazette *El Peruano* and the Andina news agency will allow the values of the ‘Marca Perú’ to reach new audiences, while strengthening its visibility across communication channels of national importance,” Mera Gómez added.
“This alliance allows us to combine capabilities and, above all, add voices to a common purpose: promoting Peru as a diverse, culturally rich country with an extraordinary history and enormous potential,” she added.
Félix Paz, Director of Journalistic Media at Editora Perú, highlighted that the ‘Marca Perú’ (Peru Brand) designation was secured after significant effort and expressed his satisfaction with this achievement.
“Obtaining this recognition and the opportunity to showcase our country’s brand places us in a very significant position as a media outlet, and we intend to continue along this path,” he stated.

Following the closing remarks and the official photograph, Rogers Valencia and Teresa Mera Gómez performed the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the historical exhibition, “El Peruano 1922–1937: A Country in Transformation,” after which the officials toured the documentary exhibition.
