Diplomat Cacho-Sousa named Peruvian Ambassador to Italy

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has appointed career diplomat Manuel Cacho-Sousa Velazquez as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the Italian Republic.

This designation was made official through Supreme Resolution No. 032-2024-RE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on Tuesday.

According to the document, the corresponding credential letters and full powers shall be granted to the new representative.

Moreover, it indicates that the date on which Cacho-Sousa will assume his new duties is to be set by ministerial resolution.

In order to allow this appointment, Supreme Resolution No. 030-2024-RE was also published in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

According to this document, the duties of the aforementioned diplomat as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to Israel are terminated.

In it, the Government thanked Cacho-Sousa for the important services rendered to the Nation.

It should be noted that the above-mentioned diplomat served as Peruvian Ambassador to Israel during the Hamas attack to said State, providing support and evacuation assistance for Peruvian nationals affected by such conflict.
