Peruvian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ignacio Higueras on Wednesday led an event showcasing investment opportunities in Peru held in Sydney, Australia.
The event, called Business and Investment Opportunities in Peru, is co-organized by the Peruvian Embassy in Australia, the Australia-Latin America Business Council, and the Australia-Peru Business Council.
During the activity, Ambassador Higueras highlighted the fiscal solvency, efficient economic and regulatory management, favorable macroeconomic climate, legal stability of foreign capital in Peru, among other things, as a basis for increasing and diversifying Australian investments in Peru.
As known, the Peruvian government official is currently paying a visit to Australia as part of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries.
Peruvian community
A few hours before the event, the deputy minister held a meeting with representatives of the Peruvian community in Australia, in which he reiterated the Foreign Affairs sector's commitment to protecting Peruvians abroad and the permanent improvement of its consular services.
The session took place at the General Consulate of Peru in Sydney, and saw the participation of Peruvian Ambassador to Australia Vitaliano Gallardo Valencia and Consul General Eliana Beraun.
Likewise, the meeting served to share ideas about the initiatives to strengthen the integration of the Peruvian community in Australia and its bonds with Peru.
Working tour
On April 14, Ambassador Higueras embarked on a working tour that includes visits to New Delhi (India), Seoul (Republic of Korea), as well as Sydney and Canberra (Australia).
In Australia, his presence in Sydney and Canberra will be required to participate at the Third Meeting of the Peru-Australia Bilateral Consultation and Cooperation Mechanism, as well as to meet with representatives of the Pacific Islands accredited to Australia.
