Gian Marco is not the only talented artist representing Peru at the Latin Grammy Awards, Damaris and Afro-Peruvian ensemble “Peru Negro” were also nominated in the category of Best Folk Album, according to the official list issued by the Latin Recording Academy, also known as the Latin Grammys.

Damaris and “Peru Negro” are nominated in the same category (category 28) along with other singers such as Mariza with her theme “Terra” and Cholo Valderrama with “Caballo” (Horse).

Damaris, the winner of two "Gaviotas de Plata” (Silver Seagull) prizes at 2008 Viña del Mar Festival in Chile, is nominated with the theme "Mil Caminos” (Thousand Ways), a song from her recent album "Tusuy Kusun".

On the other hand, the Afro-Peruvian ensemble "Peru Negro" was nominated with the song "Zamba Malató".

It is worth mentioning that the category of Best Folk Album includes vocal or instrumental soloist, duet or groups previously selected by the Latin Recording Academy.
