Treasures found at Chornancap priestess' tomb and other pre-Columbian objects will be exhibited at the Big Apple's Metropolitan Museum of Art, Northern Peru’s Bruning Museum Head Carlos Wester La Torre announced.

These important cultural goods will be put on display in September 2017.

An official agreement mandates the exhibition of eight original pieces from the priestess' tomb, which will join a greater batch of objects to comprise the America's Treasures section. Among items, cups, a scepter, a crown and a pair of earrings will be appreciated by visitors.

The authorization for the collection to depart from Peruvian soil is yet to be issued. The valuable national cultural heritage items would remain in New York (United States) thru May 2018.

Bruning Museum

Over 300 gold, copper, silver and ceramic-made pieces found at the Priestess' Tomb are displayed at the National Bruning Museum.

The ruler's Tomb was discovered in October 2011 at huaca Chornancap (Lambayeque region).

The Priestess was a Monarch or queen of that time and represented the female power exercised in the Lambayeque culture.

She was discovered next to luxurious objects among earrings, spondylus shells and jewels. Her reconstructed face was presented at the end of 2012.
