Chinese ambassador in Lima, Huang Minhui, stressed the excellent relations between Peru and China and said her country is willing to assist the South American nation to improve its production and implement reforms to achieve such a goal.
During her meeting with Peruvian Congress chairwoman, Ana Maria Solorzano, the Asian diplomat highlighted the strong ties of friendship and cooperation in a wide field of bilateral activities.
The ambassador went on to underline the joint efforts on economic, trade and cultural issues, as the two nations are determined to increase their production.
"Lima and Beijing relations are very special and extend into the Parliament, which is part of the partnership implemented in the last few months after Peruvian President Ollanta Humala made an official visit to China," she added.
The Asian senior official also took part in the awarding ceremony to honor indigenous leader Ruth Buendía, who was awarded the 2014 Goldman Environmental Prize for her work to protect the Ene River and stop the Pakitzapango and Tambo 40 dams.
Mrs. Huang Minhui said she was overwhelmed by the recognition given to this Asháninka woman, and emphasized this shows the Peruvian government is committed to promote the development of less favored sectors in the country.
