Chancay Port Terminal to benefit Peru

President Martin Vizcarra on Monday led the ceremony to sign the final agreement between Chinese State-run company Cosco Shipping Ports Limited (CSPL) and Peruvian company Volcan for the construction of the Chancay Port Terminal in Lima region, which will entail an investment worth at least US$ 3 billion.

Transport and Communications Minister Maria Jara pointed out this project will respect the environment. 

Likewise, the official indicated commitment is necessary so investments in the Inca country can go on

For his part, Economy and Finance Minister Carlos Oliva had announced Peru will have one of the most important ports in the South Pacific area

Regional hub 

Moreover, the Chancay Port Terminal is expected to become a distributing hub of transshipment cargo from Asia to South America's west coast. It will also be the central point of trade link between China and Peru.

Furthermore, it will reduce truck traffic in Lima city and share the export and import cargo that arrives through Callao Port Terminal.
