The 92nd birth anniversary of Peruvian singer Maria Isabel Granda Larco, better known as Chabuca Granda, has become the subject of the latest Google doodle.
The legendary Peruvian singer and composer was born in Cotabambas, Apurimac, on 3 September 1920 and died in Miami, USA, on 8 March 1983.
She created and interpreted a vast number of Criollo waltzes with Afro-Peruvian rhythms. Her best known song is "La flor de la canela".
Other hits include "Fina Estampa", "Puente de los Suspiros", "Lima de veras", "Gracia", "Jose Antonio", and "Zeñó Manué", to name a few.
