and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Arequipa (CCIA) have signed a technical cooperation agreement aimed at developing Peru's Southern Mining Cluster (CMSP).
The accord addresses a series of specific actions and the implementation of strategic guidelines intended for its consolidation and sustainability.
President Martin Vizcarra —as the witness of honor— underscored the signing of
said agreement and indicated its success depends on the joint efforts undertaken by the
private sector, universities, as well as the Government's three levels —national, regional, and local.
"On our part, there is a commitment to do everything we can to support this great goal," the Head of State expressed.
"If it is successful, it will be a project that will benefit everyone, especially the population since it will create many jobs," he added.
Likewise, the CAF representative pointed out this initiative seeks to increase productivity and competitiveness of small-, medium-, and
large-scale mining activities in the Inca country's southern areas.
"It will also boost the creation of an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem that
boosts private investment in research and development," Carranza said.
Moreover, it will promote cooperation with other participants such as the academy; Mining, Equipment, Technology, and Services (METS); guilds; as well as regional and local governments, among others.
