CADE Digital: OECD underscores Peru's progress in e-government over past 12 years

15:40 | Lima, Apr. 24.

The Head of Digital Government and Open Data Team of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Barbara-Chiara Ubaldi, underscored the progress made by Peru in terms of e-government over the last 12 months.

"The decision of developing an e-government plan with key objectives is a strategic step as relevant as the regulations," she said at CADE Digital 2019.

In an international context, she added, both actions show the pertinent steps taken by Peru to address e-government issues over the past 12 months.

"A significant step along this path is the establishment of the E-Government Secretariat, due to political support," she mentioned.

Barbara-Chiara Ubaldi noted Peru's decision to adopt the OECD's recommendations in order to move forward on digital transformation.

Moreover, the OECD representative believes there are more opportunities to make further progress in the digital field.

The OECD is an international cooperation organization, composed of 36 states, whose mission is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.
