The president of the National Confederation of Private Business Association (Confiep), Jaime Cáceres Sayán, said today he hopes for a fluid and constructive dialogue between businessmen and the new minister of Economy, Luis Valdivieso, to achieve more ambitious goals.
Sayán said he trust that Valdivieso, who will take office tomorrow as new minister of Economy, will continue the organized economic management of his predecessor Luis Carranza, who resigned due to personal reasons.
Cáceres Sayán said that the Ministry of Economy and Finances (MEF) can do more to attract private investment and boost the infrastructure development to improve life standards of all Peruvians, including the poorest.
"We want a greater development of the infrastructure; roads, electricity, services, telephony, for more Peruvians and with the support of MEF", he told Andina news agency.
In that sense, Cáceres Sayán said that although there are regions growing significantly, there are other zones that still have a slow growth and therefore they require more attention from authorities.
Finally, he expressed his appreciation and gratitude to minister Carranza, for his great management and major achievements such as the improvement of the country's competitiveness and poverty reduction.
