Beauty Queens, cheerleaders arrive in Peru for International Spring Festival

The 66th Trujillo Spring Festival, taking place in said northern province, sees the participation of 13 international queens and 15 U.S. cheerleaders.

Currently underway, the event will run thru September 26. 

According to RPP news, international queens and cheerleaders were welcomed by main authorities of Trujillo's Lions Club.

As part of their participation in the spring event, visitors will pay a visit to a retirement home located in the said region.  

International queens come from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, U.S., Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Puerto Rico and Uruguay.

On the other hand, the U.S cheerleader delegation is composed of: Skylar Bunish, Billie Deppe, Bailey Frankel, Spencer Fynaardt, Addison Jeffords, Alexis Piskulic, Jillian Swauger, Cassidy Tse, Meryl Campbell, Alexa Kaufman and Tracy Johnston.

Likewise, public and private activities are held on the occasion. Among them, the spring parade stands out. Such event will be held on September 25.

During the traditional parade, vehicles decorated with colors and shapes representing the spring and northern cultures will go across the city’s main streets. The event will feature queens, people from the entertainment industry, models and delegations of State and private companies. All of them will compete for the top prize, the Golden Lion. 

Furthermore, a writers gathering, painting and oratory contests, as well as a gastronomic festival will take place on the occasion. 

It must be noted the International Spring Festival is a strictly charitable event.

"The main objective is to raise funds and allocate them to sectors with low economic resources [...]," Lions Club of Trujillo President Isabel Cerna affirmed.
