Peruvian GDP growth in August will be higher than July's (2.31%), Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCR) estimated on Friday.
"(…) However, this information will be published by National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) next Monday," BCR's Economic Studies Department Manager Jorge Estrella said.
Leading indicators show progress in the electricity sub-sector (2.6%) and cement domestic consumption (0.3%) in August, Estrella explained.
However, some economic activity indicators display temporary signs of lower dynamism, thus remaining below its potential.
According to INEI's data,
fishery sector's production increased by 25.97% in August 2018, compared to the similar month last year.
Said outcome was underpinned by greater captures of maritime species for direct human consumption (+30.82%).
On the other hand, the mining and hydrocarbon sector slid 3.90% driven by lower performance in the hydrocarbon sub-sector (-26.32%), while the metallic mining one rose 0.11%.
