Peruvian champions Sporting Cristal suffered a narrow defeat against Atletico Madrid of Spain in the second to last match of the 2013 Copa EuroAmericana.

Midfielder Mario Suarez scored the only goal of the game in the 77th minute to give Diego Simeone's side a 1-0 win at the National Stadium in Lima on Wednesday.

The victory for the Copa Del Rey winners was their first in the eleven-team Copa EuroAmericana, following a 1-0 defeat to Argentine side Estudiantes de la Plata.

In its first edition, the friendly tournament features top soccer clubs from South America and Europe, including Sevilla (Spain), Porto (Portugal), Universidad Catolica (Chile), Barcelona (Ecuador), Millonarios, Atletico Nacional (Colombia), Anzoategui (Venezuela), Nacional (Uruguay) and Estudiantes (Argentina).

Yesterday's result takes the competition’s score to America 2- 5 Europe with one game reaming between Atletico and Uruguayan giants Nacional in Montevideo.
