APEC: Peru leads Anti-Corruption and Transparency Experts Working Group session

Peru —through the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) — led the 39th Meeting of the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Experts Working Group (ACTWG) at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.

At the gathering, representatives of APEC economies shared their strategies to promote transparency and combat corruption.


Thus, Public Integrity Secretary at the PCM, Ana Reategui, and APEC Program Director, Baiq Nouvia, promoted the debate on international collaboration and integration of the gender perspective to combat the negative consequences of corruption on women and girls.


At this event, delegates presented their economies' progress in implementing the United Nations Convention against Corruption and the APEC Beijing Declaration. They also shared best practices and lessons learned.

The two-day session came to an end on August 15.


Peru is hosting APEC for the third time after the 2008 and 2016 editions.
